Los Científicos eran seres que seguían su profesión y pasión, en algunos casos, el estudio o la manipulación de la ciencia. Estudiaban biología, química, antídotos, y muchas otras cosas en la galaxia. Muchos científicos también mostraban un arduo interés en las Midiclorias. Algunos de ellos, como por ejemplo Jenna Zan Arbor, creaban vida al introducir un virus dentro de un mundo, y diez años después cuando su población hubiera sido arrasada, intentaría buscar un antídoto para que obtuviera mayor suma de créditos. El lujo de los científicos en las empresas, ayudaban a crear o a mejorar potencias de naves, como por ejemplo el Defensor TIE/D o el Destructor Estelar, o construyendo Superarmas. Sin embargo, algunos sólo se concentraban en el plano natural, y seguían su pasión por la vida y estudios científicos. Otros científicos, como Farnsworth o Nuvo Vindi, tenían el título de doctor. La mayoría de los científicos trabajaban solos, pero algunas veces dentro de una comunidad, y en universidades como la Universidad Galáctica de Coruscant, o la Universidad de Sanbra.
