Del Rey es una editorial especializada en historias de Ciéncia Ficción y libros Fantásticos. Son los responsables de la mayoría de las publicaciones de Random House, incluyendo todos sus libros de Star Wars. Del Rey tiene un contrato con Lucas Licensing para publicaciones de Star Wars desde 1999, después de libros Bantam Spectra lo tuviera desde 1991 y recientemente en septiembre del 2008 renovó contrato hasta el 2013.
