Lakesis fue una bruja dathomiriana, una de las tres Grandes Madres que se aliaron con Mitth'raw'nuruodo, y llamaron a la Hermana de la Noche Morgan Elsbeth y sus fuerzas al planeta Peridea.[1]

Lakesis hizo su primera aparición en «Parte Seis: Muy, Muy Lejana», el sexto episodio de la serie de televisión Ahsoka.[1] En la mitología griega, Láquesis, de nombre similar, era una de las tres diosas conocidas como las Moiras, quienes determinaban el destino en sí mismo, siendo Láquesis específicamente la de las tres que decidía cuánto del hilo del destino asignar.[2] Esto es similar a cómo Lakesis y las otras Grandes Madres afirmaban poder leer y conocer el destino.[1]
