Brandon, can you set a rule preventing people from uploading three posts a day? Also prevent any posts solely containing memes, random entertainment video, and artwork.
Ideas for new moderators:
-allow the community to have an election.
-have the majority of moderators be veterans or members that are serious, experienced, well-respected by the community, and that won’t behave immaturely like someone on Reddit or YouTube.
-have a moderator approved by the majority of the community.
-bring back most of the old moderators.
-any new ones must be mature and with a good attitude.
Other things to consider:
-do not allow polls such as “Who is your favorite blank,?” “What is your favorite movie,?” “Should I show you my new LEGO Star Wars set,?” or “Are you looking forward to the Clone Trooper skins in Battlefront II?”
-do not allow rants, unless it is a review on recently released content. But do not permit toxic rants, allow them to use constructive criticism.
-Avoid posts involving TLJ, BFII, Lucasfilm’s controversies, and Resistance. Yes, these topics are very controversial, but discussions about them tend to end badly.
-promote courtesy
-have posts that had at least some work put into it. No posts that were made in 30 seconds unless it is a question.
-avoid meme, artwork, and blogs (Wiki Fun) as much as possible. Having people put them in threads is a little more acceptable.
-no spam
-BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY have people scroll through a few threads to see if a similar topic is addressed in order to prevent spam.
I can understand if FANDOM does not go through with many of these suggestions. I might not accept FANDOM’s decisions about the restructuring of the forum, but I will respect it. I apologize for any difficulties this discussion will create. I also apologize for the informality of this post. Though I have only been a member of the forums for a short time, I am not ignorant of it. For more than four years I have read through all the discussions on this forum, including Breakfast Wars to the Rakatan Connection. And for even longer, I have been exploring the Wikia and been a fan. The forums mean a lot to us, it was a place for discussion without all the drama, spam, toxicity, and memes found on every other Star Wars community. Let’s try to be civil in this discussion. Thank you.
