^I was thinking that too, but my understanding is that the storywrighter is given very specific guidelines by the director. I think wording of quotes and such is all they can really decide.

I haven’t got a problem with Filoni himself... he’s not a bad director or anything. It’s just... he’s not Zahn.

Handing over a character as popular as Thrawn to someone new just isn’t gonna give the results we’re hoping for. Zahn created Thrawn, and has written about him since forever. Filoni, however, has limited experience and has handled Thrawn only once.

We shoudln’t expect anything big from Filoni right off the bat. He’s got big shoes to fill, and that’s probably gonna take a while.

I’m not too worried. Filoni respects Thrawn and Zahn quite a bit. If Zahn has doubts, I’m sure we wouldn’t have seen him come back.

^It’s not that I think Filoni Can’t do a good job, It’s that I think he Won’t do a good job. He has to make it appeal to the younger kids, and what they want is quite different from what I want. But yes, I agree he has a respect for Zahn, and I respect him accordingly.

"Regarding Thrawn's fate, as well Ezra's, following the series finale of Rebels, it was initially assumed by fans that they perished upon getting contact with the vacuum of space. However, during the final Rebels Recon, Filoni revealed that both Thrawn and Bridger survived the finale.[32] In asking the question of where Thrawn and Ezra were dragged by the purrgil, Zahn answered that he has already some ideas to what exactly happened with Thrawn, but that he is waiting Filoni to decide what he wants to do with the characters post-Rebels, though he thinks that there are at least two things to which he has answers but must wait: the first is where Thrawn and Ezra are in the next in-universe four years and why the purrgil didn't kill Thrawn."
