Palpatine is easily the most important character in SW.If he hadn't taxed the outer rim, nothing would have happened. That's why Star Wars is so cool to me, the smallest details change an entire galaxy. He's also just so darn evil, he 's interesting to see, but somewhat predictable, like using his force lightning even though it always fails. Kind of like boss fights in video games, in a good way.
Although I don't like what the sequels did to him. Bringing him back in Legends was cool, and at least we knew that he was dead for sure. I mean, in canon, what's stopping Palpy from just having a hundred clones. Rey would probably beat them all up though, because somehow she never loses...
I guess palpatine is cool because he's so evil. Yeah, Darth Vader and Dooku were cool, but they were jedi at one point. Palpatine is the pure evil character, one of the few that literally only cares about himself. He throws around even his closest apprentices for a new one. This guy is so messed up.
Anyway, hopefully we can have an interesting discussion below.
