Recently, I've been wondering how people in 1983 and the years following knew what the aliens in Return of the Jedi were called, since "Ewok" is never said once in the film. I assume they were referred to as Ewoks in toys and books, but it seems unlikely to me that they would become a household name solely from that. Maybe it was from the Ewoks TV show and movies?

Everytime an ewok blew their horn in return of the jedi, on disney+, the subtitles have a unique way of organizing the (musical-) notes, im wondering if this is in the script and/or if this means a specific way the ewoks blow their horn is actually written down somewhere on the wiki or described somewhere in the comics or official star wars books. im interested and ive watched it over again and waited for an ewok to blow their horn a couple times, but i couldn't find any info on what i know of it already. does anyone know what this means?

It makes no sense that fandom says it’s from between ep 5,6 but in the Ewoks comics it is one hundred years after the formation of the new republic but most of the characters are the same so when dose it take place!???????????
