One Sith

In Legacy of the Force and other subsequent material including Fate of the Jedi it is revealed one of the primary reasons for Darth Caedus' creation was to prevent a vision of the future of Darth Krayt on the throne of balance and the chaos that ensued.

Caedus would later go on to attempt to unify the galaxy through his rule and desperately prevent the vision of this future at any cost. However he was killed before it could come to pass.

Krayt and his One Sith would remain on Korriban in secret, manipulating events subtly to their liking. Luke would later encounter Krayt in the realm beyond shadows. Working together to defeat Abeloth.

My question is this: Could Darth Caedus (had he not been killed) have defeated Krayt and prevented the rise of the One Sith and their eventual Empire?

Caedus was of course a Scion of the Skywalker bloodline and the grandson of Darth Vader, one of the most powerful force users In the galaxy and knowledgeable in both the light and dark side. The same could be said however of Krayt, formerly A'Sharad Hett of the Jedi Order and considered to be the equal or counterpart of Luke Skywalker himself at his most powerful. The One Sith as an organisation was comprised of very powerful individuals and was not beholden to the restrictions of Bane's rule of two.

In the Star Wars Legacy (2006) comics, a former Jedi named A’Sharad Hett, now known as the Sith Lord Darth Krayt, had thrown the galaxy into a chaos with his new One Sith order. The Jedi order was almost entirely annihilated by his Sith order, with the few survivors once again scattered and hidden throughout the galaxy. He also managed to effectively divide the empire, with the entire Moff council swearing loyalty to him and Roan Fel along with his imperial knights are forced to go into hiding and carefully plan their retaliation. Darth Krayt wasted no time in moving forward with his vision to place the entire galaxy under his rule. Truthfully, he couldn’t afford to waste time, as his health was deteriorating due to the Yuuzhan Vong implants on his armor.

He sought out Cade Skywalker in order to manipulate him into using his unique force healing abilities to heal him from his illness. Long story short, Cade barely managed to escape Krayt’s clutches but not before Cade learned the real extent of Krayt’s power, his health and his hold over the galaxy. Between Roan Fel’s imperial knights and what remained of the New Republic/Galactic Federation of Free Alliances, they were numerous factions trying to hit back at Krayt’s empire but they couldn’t accomplish much on their own. There’s also the fact that the Mon Calamari were brutally murdered for trying to stand against Krayt’s rule.

The near hopeless state of the galaxy leads me to the main topic of my post. Cade traveled to a hidden temple in order to discuss a plan of action with what remains of the Jedi order and council. He revealed Darth Krayt’s origins to them and proposed that the Jedi organize a team to kill Darth Krayt. The council understandably was caught off guard by Cade’s proposal especially since he was trained as a Jedi by his father and Wolf Sazen.

The Jedi council wrestled with this plan and debated it amongst themselves all night. They reflected on how the clone wars made them do questionable things and some of the Jedi gave into their aggressive feelings. The circumstances and times are different here considering the Jedi aren’t as numerous as they were in the clone wars and Darth Krayt’s actions concerning the Mon Calamari has the survivors begging for help. Cade believes times like this should require the Jedi to stop clinging to their defensive mindset but ultimately the council decided against his idea. They reminded him that a jedi’s ultimate goal is to preserve life and they felt like it was better to wait and allow Darth Krayt’s order to turn on itself. They felt like being patient and allowing the Sith to betray one another would provide a better opportunity for a planned assault as well as allow the Jedi council more time to locate other survivors of the order.

Do you agree with the Jedi council’s decision? If you were on the council would you have spoken in favor of Cade’s plan? Do you find yourself somewhat in the middle of these two opposing viewpoints?

I personally find myself somewhat in the middle here. I definitely agree that as the leader of the One Sith Darth Krayt’s needs to be dealt with sooner rather than later but there’s also the fact that by committing cold blooded murder, you risk becoming what you’re trying to destroy. That being said, I personally would find it hard to sit by and wait for the Sith to turn on each other because there’s no telling how long that would take and how many lives would be lost before that happens. I also don’t want to responsible for making things worst by rushing off to kill Krayt so I ultimately think I would side with the council’s decision.

For the purpose of Post-Palpatine I won't be including Operation: Shadow Hand. Anything post Dark Empire which is related to the Sith so Carnor Jax, Lumiya, Darth Caedus and Darth Krayt.

For me it's down to Caedus and Krayt.

Caedus as chief of state was responsible for atrocities such as the Burning of Kashyykkk, killing his aunt Mara Jade, committing Genocide, Torture, and fanning the flames of th Second Galactic Civil War.

Krayt on the other hand spent decades creating the One Sith, warring with the Fel Empire. Subjugating the galaxy under Sith Rule, Genocide and so on

I'm not an expert on Legends by any means so who did you guys believe caused more destruction in the galaxy?

As some of you know, I am quite heavily invested into my own Star Wars fan fiction. I know this isn’t a fanfic forum, I won’t be posting any excerpts of anything, but I am asking for advice. I’m awful at coming up with titles for my books, and I’m asking for any ideas. Something creative and subtle, that doesn’t spell out the plot by itself. So y’all can help me out, I’ll provide a synopsis. Note: these fanfics are loosely based off of the legends timeline, but I’ve added or replaced a number of story elements.

19 ABY: the Battle of Yaga Minor has ended, and famous New Republic pilot Kavlo Kermann is perceived by all to have been killed in the battle. He is in fact alive, but barely. The Dark Lady of the Sith, Lumiya, who had been hunting Kermann in the preceding novel because she had discovered his previously unknown Force sensitivity, has finally claimed her prize. Lumiya has taken the physically broken, totally paralyzed Kermann to her hideout in the region surrounding the Belkadan System, where she sustains him with the help of a contingent of One Sith, led by Darth Nyrhac, a lieutenant of the dormant Darth Krayt. The goal: break Kerman’s spirit, and turn him to the Dark Side. This process takes up much of the book, with Lumiya playing on Kerman’s past, his emotions, and the hopelessness of his current situation. Ultimately, Lumiya breaks Kermann by manipulating him to think his friends and family had betrayed him at Yaga Minor, resulting in his incapacitation and suffering. This causes Kermann to lash out with such an intense burst of hatred that he heals his body (except for some burns on his face, giving him a Dark Knight Two-Face kind of look—also, Shadows of the Empire is where I got that heal thing, Vader tried it multiple times during the book). He pledges himself to the Sith, becoming Darth Apollyon. For most of the rest of the book, Apollyon trains in the Dark Side, and he and Lumiya end up turning on the One Sith, killing Nyrhac and the others. The One Sith are too weak at this point to retaliate. The book ends with Lumiya presenting the “miraculously” healed Apollyon, assuming the role of Kermann, to Grand Admiral Pellaeon, who knows much about Kermann’s exploits, and appoints him as an Imperial Admiral on the spot. That’s where it ends.

I’m not asking for opinions on my plot summary either. I just need help with a title. So if y’all would be willing to oblige, that would be really helpful.

In the Legacy era, a new Sith faction called the One Sith was created by Darth Krayt. After him and many other Sith Lords such as Wrrylock and Stryfe died, they scattered. These Sith were then hunted down by the rouge sith, Darth Wredd, which led to a battle that seemingly wiped out the One Sith. However, many major Sith who survived after Krayts death such as Maladi, Talon, Havok, Saarai and their new leader, Nihl didnt appear in that on panel during the battle that exterminated th One Sith. So what happened to them? Did they die too? Or are they still roaming the galaxy?
