Nobody is getting banned right now. Let's just allow this topic to end, since it really goes off-topic if it continues from this point on.
Since the new contest has already started, I'll go ahead and lock this thread to avoid things getting derailed.
No, this thread doesn't need to start any kind of argument. The topic has reached its natural conclusion with the changes being brought into effect in the MOTW. Let that be the end of it for now.
It's not really about restricting memes that "make fun" of a country's current leader, it's more for the fact that such things are divisive and may lead to politically charged discourse that is not something that we want to deal with on our forum.
No, it's better to let everyone know if something on the forum is making one uncomfortable. We likely would have reached these same conclusions in time anyhow, it's just that the mod team isn't all that interested in constantly policing the MOTW to notice the sorts of things that might be disagreeable to some users (and the "higher ups", as well).
Now that I'm here, though, @Aslam113 I'll have to ask you to refrain from using pictures other than those related to Star Wars when you create the MOTW thread. I looked through the contest history, and you seem to have a habit of using pictures that are completely unrelated to Star Wars as the thumbnail, like the anime one this time around.
The pictures relate to memes, sure, but as the Wook forums are a Star Wars forum, "official" threads such as the MOTW should feature thumbnails that relate to the main topic of the site, i.e. Star Wars.
See the newest comment in the currently active thread. We've made some decisions concerning this whole matter, after a talk with the admin team last night.
All right, after consultation with the administrative team overnight, we have come to a decision that'll affect the MOTW moving forward.
With recent weeks seeing the addition of some memes of a more questionable nature, and this being noted in the previous winners' announcement post, we're gonna have to set a little tighter control on what is and is not appropriate to be posted in the MOTW.
First, while political themes relating to Star Wars are usually allowed to be posted on the forum (in informational essay and analysis form), memes featuring current political figures and/or events always carry the possibility of running afoul and introducing discourse which we do not want here. Therefore, from now on, memes featuring said things (politicians, current real world events like war and civil strife) will not be allowed to be posted in the Meme of the Week contest.
Please keep an eye on these sorts of memes and make use of the report function so that the mod team can address them (Sarith and I are not actively monitoring or even following these threads most of the time, so we are often unable to catch guideline or Fandom TOU violations as they happen without vigilance from you, the regulars).
Secondly, another thing that should be avoided henceforth is the inclusion of content that can be deemed sexist, objectifying or downright misogynistic or misandrist. This tends to be a little less easily spotted than memes featuring current political figures and the like, so if you see a meme that makes you feel uncomfortable or offended, please make use of the report function and let us know so that we may take a look and determine if the memes violate either our own guidelines, or Fandom's terms of use.
We have largely allowed the community to police themselves in this matter up until now, but it's starting to appear that things might be beginning to slip out of control, and thus we are forced to "reign it in," so to speak.
In summary: memes featuring events or persons from real-life politics will no longer be allowed to be posted as entries in the contest. Furthermore, content deemed sexist or objectifying shall be deleted, and users should report any and all memes that they find personally offensive or feel that they are inappropriate for this site. We will look into those instances whenever you pass on the reports to us, and determine whether they warrant deletion or any further action.
Thank you for reading and your understanding.

^ I know this has taken far too long to address; my apologies for it.
It does seem like those accounts would be the same person. Problem is, the previous accounts seem to have been disabled by either Fandom or the user himself, but there's no way for us to know for sure which one is the case. And since two accounts aren't being used at the same time here, we can't exactly accuse them of active sockpuppetry either.
We'll keep a closer eye on it, though as things stand right now, there are no guidelines being broken, so our hands are tied. But thanks for being vigilant on that front, in any case!
Hold on, is it really 200 posts within the previous six months prior to the vote, or just 200 posts in total, and that the user's account is at least six months old?
Because, technically neither me or Sarith would be eligible to vote either, since I doubt we've had more than 200 posts made in the last half a year...
I've always wished that Lucas would've kept the original plans for the Jedi vs Palpatine fight intact. Even if the prelude to it would be the same as in the final film (i.e. Anakin is not present until the very end), it would've worked so much better to have the fight choreography be performed by stunt doubles in its entirety.
It's always bugged me how sloppy the duel looks at times, which understandably is due to the fact that Ian McDiarmid is no stunt actor, lol. But still, it would've looked so much better with the original plans kept in place, and I'll always hold that opinion.
Indirect means that he's not mentioned by name. Pretty sure it refers to this line in the opening crawl: "Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR..."
Originally it was supposed to be the galaxy itself, as detailed in some old source books and mentioned by Leland Chee back in 2003, and later still in the Essential Atlas.
Canon has since then changed that (as per Sarith's comment), but originally it really was the Star Wars galaxy itself, not another galaxy or some other kind of celestial object.
We're simply regular users who have been promoted to the position; we're not employed by Fandom in any sort of way. I'm not sure how the very first mods were appointed in the beginning, but Givinname, ArchieKE and myself were all handpicked to the position in 2019 by a Fandom staff member after the previous moderators were all removed in late 2018 (in what we jokingly refer to as "the Purge"). Sarith joined the team after Archie retired a year later.
Up until only recently, it was up to us moderators to handpick our colleagues and successors, but thanks to Sarith's efforts, the process has since then been changed to match how administrators and other "higher positions" are handed out on the Wook. In summary, prospective new mods are now nominated by us existing mods, and the community will then vote in support or opposition to them in an election of sorts.
Said "elections" are handled through the "request for user rights" page, here: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Wookieepedia:Requests_for_user_rights
It looks like a hot glue gun, lol
The early idea essentially was that the clones were the "bad guys" of that war, that the Jedi fought against clones, not alongside them. The original Thrawn trilogy, for example, used that version of the Clone Wars in some background descriptions for characters like Pellaeon and Thrawn. Those mentions of "evil clones" were later retconned as being experimental clone soldiers that the Separatists used during the war.
A veiled insult from Han, probably.
Also, the "human Jabba" scene never made it into the original film; it was unfinished. The scene was brought back into the movie with the Special Edition, in which the human version was replaced with the early CGI Jabba (improved upon in later re-releases).
Without going into any specifics or spoilers, the end of Andor felt a tiny bit anticlimactic, so I watched Rogue One immediately after to make it feel complete, lol.
Sorry, but all discussion relating to newly released material need to be contained within the official threads for 30 days after they're first released. In this case, the thread for the first three episodes of the second season: https://starwars.fandom.com/f/p/4400000000003915742
One complaint I have about that collection is that the sleeves holding the discs are way too tight and cannot be opened easily. It's nigh impossible to take the discs out without smudging them, requiring the use of vinyl gloves or something similar to avoid the fingerprints and stains.
Normally it would be, and the post would need to be locked and the discussion redirected to the official thread. However, it doesn't seem like anyone actually made official threads for the Tales of the Underworld episodes, so I suppose that adding a [Spoilers] tag in that thread will suffice.
I'll add the tag, and y'all can discuss the show however you see fit in there.
