The older VB6 version should work just fine, but the newer Java version requires a connection to its website, which has gone offline.
Keep in mind though that using the VB6 version, people won't just join your game. You'd have to send someone the correct IP address and have them connect to it.

Yes but you’ll have to redownload Movie Duels first.
First, validate the game (or reinstall it if you don’t have it on steam). Then you’ll need to extract each mod into separate folders inside of the game data folder. Then, for each executable inside of the mod folders, create a shortcut. In each shortcut that you’ve just made, open it’s properties, then put your cursor on the end of the “Target” field.
Copy this after the .exe:
+set fs_cdpath . +set fs_basepath ..
Then just use the shortcuts to launch each mod.

Unless you want to make multiple day-long movies, it would have to be shortened. Even if you don't consider all the details, there are multiple endings.
