Does the novel "Shadow of the Sith" explain how Palpatine managed to orchestrate those events? Because if I recall correctly, Anakin/Darth Vader killed Palpatine in Return of the Jedi.

When Did the Events of Rey's Childhood take Place?

In Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Rey, the main character of the New Trilogy, was revealed to be the granddaughter of Emperor Palpatine AKA Darth Sidious, the main villain of the Star Wars Saga. As shocking as that reveal was, I have a few questions about that. In the New Trilogy, we got a few glimpses into Rey's childhood through some flashbacks. When exactly did the events of those flashbacks take place? Because if we follow the timeline of the Star Wars Saga, the flashback events of Rey's childhood would've had to have taken place right after the Prequel Trilogy, and during the Original Trilogy. Maybe. Can someone explain it to me?
