エフレムLX（Efrem LX）はファースト・オーダーとレジスタンスが戦争を繰り広げた時代に活動したヒューマノイド型ドロイドである。35 ABY、ファイナル・オーダーがその力を誇示するために惑星キジーミを破壊した直前、このドロイドはキジーミ・シティに居合わせた。
経歴[]
エフレムLX
35 ABY[2]、ファースト・オーダーとレジスタンスが戦争を繰り広げた時代[3]、エフレムLXは[1] ファースト・オーダーの占領下にある寒冷惑星キジーミのキジーミ・シティに滞在していた。この町の住民は、ファースト・オーダーのパトロール部隊が盗賊地区にまで入り込んでくることに悩まされていた。[4] エフレムLXがキジーミにいたとき、レジスタンスのメンバーであるポー・ダメロンとフィン、レイたちがドロイド職人のバブ・フリックに会うためキジーミを訪れた。エフレムLXがキジーミ・シティの通りを移動するファースト・オーダーのストームトルーパーの兵団を眺めている間、レジスタンスのメンバーとバブのいるワークショップへ案内中であった[3] キジーミのスパイス・ランナーズのリーダー[4]、ゾーリ・ブリスはこのドロイドのそばを通り過ぎた。[3]
その後、ブリスのスパイス・ランナーズのアジトの中にいたエフレムLXは、目的を果たして退散するレジスタンスのメンバーを目撃した。ダメロンたちがキジーミから脱出した直後、この惑星は銀河皇帝シーヴ・パルパティーンによって創られたファイナル・オーダーの標的となった。ファイナル・オーダーはその力を銀河系に誇示するため[3]、ジストン級スター・デストロイヤー＜デリファン＞のアキシャル・スーパーレーザー[4] を使ってキジーミを破壊してしまった。[3]
特徴[]
エフレムLXはヒューマノイド型のボディを持つドロイドである。顔の右側に青いフォトレセプターを1つ備え、ボディは灰色と銅色に塗装されていた。[1]

エフレムLXは2019年公開の映画『スター・ウォーズ エピソード9/スカイウォーカーの夜明け』で初登場を果たした。[3] キャラクター名は Topps から発売されたトレーディング・カード・セット「Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Series 1」で判明した。[1]
エフレムLXのコンセプト・アートはコンセプト・アーティストのジェイク・ラント・デイヴィスが手掛けた。彼は自身の Instagram アカウントで該当のアートを投稿するると同時に、このドロイドを SWAT の軍隊戦闘バージョンのプロトコル・ドロイドだと表現している。また彼は『スカイウォーカーの夜明け』でエフレムLXを演じたのはモフセン・ノーリ、エフレムLXの頭部を含む全身のパーツのモデル化および造形をアンドリュー・ギルバートとスコット・ライリー、エフレムLXのグラスファイバーのモデリングとキャスティングをオリヴィア・ウィテカー、ボディ・スーツへのテクノロジーの搭載をフィオナ・ポラード、最終的なスーツの組み立てと塗装をショーン・スコフィールドが担当したことも同サイトで明かし、自身が制作したドロイドの実写化に携わった彼らに感謝の言葉を述べている。[5] またデイヴィスはギルバートとライリーがこのドロイドのパーツを制作するにあたり、C-3POのデジタル・アセットをベースに、自身が手掛けたデザインをもとにディテールを追加したことも Instagram で語っている。[6]

This guy is a some kind of military combat SWAT version of a protocol droid. If that can be a thing. Briefly glimpsed hanging out in the bar on Kijimi in The Rise of Skywalker. Props to André @clayofthejackal and Scott @mentaltentacle for sculpting and 3D modelling and printing various sections of the suit including the head; Olivia Whitaker and team for moulding and casting in fibreglass; @fionapollard3 for another great tech filled bodysuit plus holsters and webbing; @seanpschofield for overseeing the whole thing, putting all those bits together as a suit, #scratchbuilding the rest and the final paint job; and to performer Mohsen Nouri for being sealed up inside it all!.
