The "24-karat" beaches were located on the Gold Beaches, which stretched along the western coastline of the planet Corellia's southern continent. The Gold Beaches were considered to be among the most breathtaking natural wonders in the Core Worlds for their stunning sands that glittered like gold in the light of Corell, Corellia's sun.[1]
The composition of the powdery sands included fossilized algae, shells of aquatic creatures and microscopic organisms, and concetrated silica from coral reefs. The "24-karat" beaches were located in the southerly portions of the Gold Beaches, and were known for their purer color and texture. As such, they were the most popular tourist destination on the Gold Beaches and were featured heavily in advertisements.[1]
