1977 Topps Star Wars Series 3 was a trading card set released by Topps in 1977.

The set was based on Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and featured stills from the film, promotional photos and behind the scenes photos, all within a yellow border. Backs of the cards featured an "Official Description" theme describing characters or vehicles, or included a portion of a larger image that could be pieced together with other cards like a puzzle. A sub-set of sticker cards was included.

Card numbering in the set continued from the previous series. Two more series of the set followed.

Continuity

Cards 189 and 191 feature images from the deleted scene of Luke repairing a moisture vaporator on Tatooine. Grand Moff Tarkin is referred to as Governor of the Imperial Outlands (mostly known later as the Outer Rim Territories), and lightsabers are called "light sabers."
