Contents
Events[edit | edit source]
- Maul's criminal alliance Shadow Collective is founded,[8] initially dissolved,[9] and later reformed.[10]
- Despite being found innocent at her trial for the bombing of the Jedi Temple hangar (the real culprit was Barriss Offee), Ahsoka Tano leaves the Jedi Order.[11]
- Order 66 prematurely activates for clone trooper Tup during the Battle of Ringo Vinda, leading ARC trooper Fives to discover the control chips and learn how they can force clone troopers to eliminate the Jedi without question. However, the ARC trooper is killed by members of the Coruscant Guard before he can properly warn his fellow clones and the Jedi.[12][13][14]
- After a genocidal attack on the planet Mahranee, the Jedi High Council reluctantly approves a plan to assassinate Count Dooku, sending Jedi Master Quinlan Vos on an undercover operation to team up with Dooku's former assassin Asajj Ventress for the job.[15]
- Mother Talzin is killed by General Grievous during the Second Battle of Dathomir.[9]
- Tano befriends Level 1313 resident Trace Martez and her sister Rafa, and the three become embroiled in trouble with the Pyke Syndicate after Rafa is forced to recruit her sister for a spice-running job.[16][17]
- ARC trooper Echo is discovered to be alive and a captive of the Techno Union. He is rescued by Anakin Skywalker, Captain Rex, and Clone Force 99.[18]
- The Siege of Mandalore begins. Ahsoka Tano, working with Lady Bo-Katan Kryze and the Mandalore resistance, asks Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi for help. When the two Jedi Generals are abruptly called away to the Battle of Coruscant, Skywalker splits the 501st Legion and gives Tano a new division, including the 332nd Company. Since Tano is no longer a member of the Grand Army of the Republic, Skywalker promotes Rex to Commander to lead the unit, with Tano officially serving as an advisor.[19]
- Following a duel, Count Dooku is decapitated by Anakin Skywalker aboard the Invisible Hand.[1]
- Skywalker and Kenobi manage to rescue Supreme Chancellor Palpatine from the Invisible Hand.[1]
- Chancellor Palpatine reveals to Skywalker that he is a Dark Lord of the Sith.[1]
- General Grievous is slain by Kenobi on Utapau.[1]
- Anakin Skywalker informs Mace Windu of his findings about Chancellor Palpatine.[1]
- Mace Windu, Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar, and Saesee Tiin attempt to arrest Palpatine after learning that the Chancellor is a Sith Lord, but fail and are killed by Sidious with assistance from the manipulated Anakin Skywalker. Skywalker subsequently becomes Darth Vader, Sidious's new apprentice.[1]
- Clone troopers led by Vader besiege the Jedi Temple.[1]
- The Great Jedi Purge begins with Order 66.[1]
- Darth Vader slaughters the Separatist Council on Mustafar and remotely deactivates the Separatist Droid Army, dissolving the Confederacy of Independent Systems and ending the Clone Wars.[1]
- The Galactic Empire is founded by the self-anointed Galactic Emperor Palpatine, replacing the Galactic Republic and putting the galaxy directly under the control of the Sith.[1]
- The Galactic Senate becomes the Imperial Senate.[1]
- Yoda and Sidious duel in the Senate Building.[1]
- Kenobi and Vader duel on Mustafar. After losing his remaining organic limbs in the duel, Vader is sealed into a cybernetic suit of armour.[1]
- Padmé Amidala, the secret wife of Anakin Skywalker, dies on Polis Massa after giving birth to their children, Luke and Leia. Her funeral takes place on Naboo.[1]
- Fearing that Anakin's children will be hunted down because they could pose a threat to the Emperor, the Jedi Masters Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi, as well as Senator Bail Organa, agree to hide the whereabouts of the Skywalker family twins.[20][1] As a result, the House of Organa, the royal family of Alderaan, adopts Leia, while the Lars family of Tatooine takes in Luke Skywalker.[1]
- Yoda goes into a self-imposed exile on Dagobah, while Kenobi goes to live as a hermit on Tatooine watching over Luke Skywalker.[1]
- After the crash[21] of the Tribunal[22] as a result of onboard fighting caused by the issuance of Order 66, as well as the escape of Maul,[21] Ahsoka Tano and Rex go into hiding in the Outer Rim to escape the Empire, with Tano faking her death[23] by abandoning her lightsabers at the crash site.[24]
- Saw Gerrera of Onderon forms his rebel cell, the Partisans.[25]
- With the fall of the Republic, the galaxy enters a period known as the "dark times."[1][26]
