History

Around the year 22 BBY, during the onset of the Clone Wars, the 224th was deployed to the planet Mimban to fight for the Galactic Republic. They fought alongside the 44th Special Operations Division, another unit of the Republic's clone trooper army led by a Captain Sharp, and its squad of Devil Dogs. During the battle, the 224th received a shout-out from the robotic host of a musical program on the Grand Army of the Republic broadcast HoloNet channel. The shout-out, dedicating the following song to them, was heard by their fellow clone troopersCT-26-1409, CT-26-6958, CT-27-5555, "Nub," "Droidbait," and "Cutup"—stationed at a listening post on the moon of Rishi as their first assignment.

Behind the scenes

The 224th were mentioned in a holographic transmission in an episode of television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the fifth, entitled "Rookies." The battle they took part in on Mimban was later mentioned in the seventh issue of the show's associated comic book serial, which also introduced the 44th to Star Wars continuity.
