The 2nd Fleet was a fleet in the naval branch of the Galactic Republic[1] formed between 22 BBY and 19 BBY.[2] During the Clone Wars between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the 2nd Fleet was stationed in the Quellor sector, the location of the Neimoidian Purse Worlds, which belonged to the Confederate-aligned Trade Federation.[1]
Because of these purse-worlds, the 2nd Fleet blockaded the sector, and as a result fought against the CIS Trade Federation Home Defense Legions and its enormous fleet of Lucrehulk-class Battleships, which kept the Republic fleet at bay. As one of the twenty mainline fleets of the Republic Navy, it was attached to a Sector Army of the Grand Army of the Republic.[1]

The 2nd Fleet was mentioned in Rise of the Separatists, a roleplaying supplementary sourcebook for the Star Wars Roleplaying series that was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2019.[1]

Since the 2nd Fleet was active during the Clone Wars and was under the Republic Navy, it can be inferred that the fleet was founded during the Clone Wars, between 22 BBY and 19 BBY.
