The 40th Emergence,[2] or the fortieth Emergence, was the fortieth of the Emergences, fallout of the Great Hyperspace Disaster in which fragments of the freighter Legacy Run shot out of hyperspace seemingly at random. The fortieth Emergence was a portion of the Legacy Run's bridge that contained its flight recorder. As a result, a skirmish ensued as members of the Jedi Order and Galactic Republic personnel, who were hoping to retrieve the device, fought members of the Nihil pirates who were attempting to destroy it.[1]
