The Ackbar family was a Mon Calamari family originating from the planet Dac.[2] The first known member of the family is Gial Ackbar[4]. The family had members who were part of the New Jedi Order[3] and the New Republic.[1] The family's known members include:
- Gial Ackbar, Supreme Commander of the New Republic Defense Fleet[5]
- Jesmin Ackbar, niece of Ackbar and cousin of Cilghal, pilot in the NRDF[1]
- Cilghal, niece of Ackbar and cousin of Jesmin, Jedi Master and Senator in the New Republic Senate[6]
