Adam Driver (born November 19, 1983) is an Academy Award–nominated American actor who starred in the Sequel trilogy films Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi, and Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker as the villainous Kylo Ren.[4][5][6]

Adam Driver's involvement in the Star Wars franchise was first announced on April 29, 2014 when he was named as a cast member for Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens.[2] For his performance in The Force Awakens as the antagonistic Kylo Ren, Driver was voted Best Villain at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards.[7] In interviews, he has said that he tends to avoid watching his own performances.[8] Driver reprised his role as Kylo Ren in the Sequel trilogy films Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi (2017) and Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker (2019).[5][6]
Non-Star Wars work
Driver rose to prominence in the supporting role of Adam Sackler in the HBO comedy-drama series Girls (2012-2017).[9] He has also appeared in supporting roles in a wide range of films, including the 2012 historical drama film Lincoln,[10] the black comedy tragedy Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)[11] and Martin Scorcese's 2016 historical drama film Silence.[12]
He also starred in the 2014 comedy While We're Young,[13] the drama film Hungry Hearts (2014),[14] Midnight Special (2016),[15] Jim Jarmusch's 2016 drama film Paterson,[16] Terry Gilliam's The Man Who Killed Don Quixote,[17] and Spike Lee's BlacKkKlansman (2018) where he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.[18]
