Plot summary[]
- "Okay. This is really it. Last Favor I do for anyone because I'm definitely not part of the Rebellion!"
- ―Han Solo on Calumdarian
Following the Battle of Yavin, on Balnab, Han Solo and Chewbacca are counting the credits promised by Ben Kenobi aboard the Millennium Falcon. With a collective seventeen thousand credits, the two smugglers have enough to not only pay off Jabba the Hutt, but also rewire the hyperdrive couplers with the excess, giving them the freedom to roam the galaxy. Staring at the galaxy map, Solo questions where the two of them will go, but ultimately, the two of them are completely lost with where they should go. While pondering their next destination, Luke Skywalker comes aboard the Falcon, asking if the two could transport some crates to a surveillance outpost on Calumdarian. However, Solo is pretty adamant that they are not a part of the Rebel Alliance, although they had previously helped Leia Organa with a mission on Cyrkon. Having already brought the crates aboard the ship, Luke leaves the freighter and the smugglers to complete the mission. In the Balnab Spaceport, Han and Chewbacca are having drinks at the cantina. Across the room, a couple of rebels bump into someone at the bar. Upon inspection, the man at the bar has an imperial blaster, alarming them, they cause a bar fight to break out. Han is hit by a chair, prompting him to join in and punch some of the rebels. He calls for everybody to stop, and the fighting subsides. Han dismisses the rebels, and recognises that the person at the bar was Akko, an old smuggling friend from the Garel scam. Akko is looking to move some Spice and since Han has access to the Imperial surveillance schedule they could easily escape repercussions for moving the substance. Four hours later, Han brings Akko and his crew, who have drank way too much, aboard the Falcon and let them sleep. Chewbacca is against the detour, putting the people at the Calumdarian surveillance outpost in more danger.
Travelling to Troiken, the smugglers strike a deal with several Xexto for twenty thousand credits. Chewbacca picks up some Imperial Chatter, prompting the smugglers to leave as soon as possible, however, Akko tells them they should socialize with the creatures and that nightfall would be a better way to escape the Empire. Later in the evening, Akko informs Han that they are moving the Alderaan next, which has recently been destroyed, to salvage the remains of any good items floating in space. Han tries to tell them that it would be a waste of time searching for anything, but Akko and his crew think Han is trying to keep the loot for himself. The Snivvian of Akko's gang takes one of the weapons they sold to the Xexto, and launches a large explosive into the air, alerting a nearby group of stormtroopers to their location. The Stormtroopers raid the gathering, arresting anyone they can, Han and Chewbacca manage to break through the troopers and grab the credits they earned from the Xexto. They return to the Falcon and communicate with the gang, finding out that they have been captured and will only be released if they are given a cut of the credits. Choosing to rescue his friends, Han kicks the crates for the surveillance outpost and takes the Falcon to retrieve his captured companions. Handing over all the earnings from the deal, Akko offers to give the two of them triple shares from what they take from Alderaan, but they refuse and leave the gang on Troiken. With the mission for the rebels still to complete, Han and Chewbacca track the cargo down, which has been found by a group of Gozzo. Attempting to retrieve them, the Gozzo pull weapons on them. Han attempts to buy them off with seven thousand, but eventually settle on seventeen thousand. Finally arriving on Calumdarian, Han and Chewbacca deliver the supplies and saving them. As soon as the supplies had been received, a member of the surveillance team gives Han another mission to deliver a message to Kiros and save hundreds of innocent lives. Chewbacca convinces Han to do this one last mission for the rebels, even though Han continues to reiterate that he is not part of the Rebellion.
