Aguth Omak was a senator in the Galactic Republic's Galactic Senate who represented Sluis Van,[2] an astronomical object in the Outer Rim Territories.[3] The Pau'an Tychon Nulvolio served as Omak's Chief of Staff. During the Separatist Crisis, Omak was a secessionist and left the Republic in order to serve in the Separatist Senate of the Confederacy of Independent Systems in a role of middling importance in the Separatist's civilian government.[2]
After the Clone Wars broke out between the Republic and the Confederacy, Nulvolio faded from public view until Omak perished during the war, at which point Nulvolio ran for the senator's seat and won. In the first year of the Galactic Empire's reign following the end of the Clone Wars[2] in 19 BBY,[1] Senator Mon Mothma of the Imperial Senate thought of Omak when she met Nulvolio for the first time.[2]
