The aid mission to Langston was a humanitarian operation carried out by the Galactic Republic and Jedi Order to assist residents of the planet Langston in the aftermath of an attack by the Confederacy of Independent Systems early in the Clone Wars, which had been repelled by the Grand Army of the Republic. The mission was led by newly-promoted Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and D'urban Wen-Hurd, who were assisted by the 302nd Battalion of clone troopers. In addition, five Jedi younglings were sent along on the mission as part of an initiative by Republic Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine to get younglings and Padawans used to the clones. Skywalker, Initiate Mill Alibeth, and the astromech droid R2-D2 departed the mission without warning when Skywalker discovered that his former Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, was in danger on Cato Neimoidia.[1]
