Dr. Aiyah Pellorean was a research director for the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. During the war they oversaw the production of Test Unit 08-B, set of clothing that produced an amplification field of 2.41 meters that increased the effectiveness of ion weapons. However it also caused nearby battle droids to become violently disorientated. Since battle droids were such an important part of the war effort Pellorean was ordered to halt their work until peace was achieved. Agreeing with the assessment, Pellorean had the outfit stored in a bunker on the Outer Rim planet Akiva.[1]
