- "SUPPORT THE CONFEDERACY OF INDEPEDENT SYSTEMS!"
"BUY A DROID FROM THE SEPARATIST ALLIANCE!"
"RALLY AGAINST REPUBLIC OPPRESSION." - ―Signs outside the factory
The Akiva production plant, also known as the Myrra droid factory, was used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems and Trade Federation during the Clone Wars and was located in the catacombs of Akiva underneath the city of Myrra.
Description[]
- "How'd they get the droids out? They didn't march them through these…sewers."
"Used to be a telescoping platform. They'd raise the droids up for delivery and ships would pick them up. It's all destroyed, sealed over. I thought once you could get down here from there, but it's too wrecked." - ―Jas Emari and Temmin Wexley
The Akiva production plant, known also as the Myrra droid factory due to its location in the Akivan catacombs under the city of Myrra,[2] was a droid factory was established by the Confederacy of Independent Systems and Trade Federation on the planet Akiva in the Outer Rim Territories.[1] The factory contained vast construction systems to build batches of B1-series battle droids and construct the BX-series droid commando model. Technician Gedeek Obaz also believed the factory was able to produce the B1's OOM command battle droid variant when he believed he spotted one such droid in its ruins.[2] Upon construction, newly-produced droids were raised out of the facility via a telescoping platform, allowing the droids to be picked up by incoming starships.[1]
History[]
Establishment[]
After its establishment by the Trade Federation and Confederacy of Independent Systems,[1] the Akiva production plant constructed battle droids for the Confederacy military during the Clone Wars, a galaxy-wide war between the Confederacy and Galactic Republic[2] between 22 BBY and 19 BBY.[3] It was also open for civilian droid purchases.[1] The CIS purchased droids from the factory[2] but was also directly involved in building droids within, even generating profits itself from the operation. According to the Akivan Norra Wexley, the factory was established in the later years of the Clone Wars,[1] but the factory in fact had been active since 22 BBY at least.[4] The factory was overseen by chief supervisor Poreni.[2]
Production and destruction[]
- "General Grievous. This is chief supervisor Poreni at the Akive production plant. I am happy to announce that the latest batch of B1 battle droids is completed ahead of time. As per agreement, we will deliver them to Hakara forthwith, where they shall be ready for deployment immediately."
- ―Poreni
During the war, the Akiva production plant built units including the B1-series battle droid and the BX-series droid commando. As it did with most droid factories in time, however, the Republic discovered the factory. After discovering the location, the Republic attacked with Jedi and clone commandos.[2] The factory was left a wrecked husk of its former self.[1]
After the war[]
- "You've got to be kidding me."
"And this is supposed to be a secret base." - ―Kay Vess and Asara

In 3 ABY, thief Kay Vess saw what was left of the abandoned Separatist factory.
After the war, resourceful scavengers scoured the factory to build droids of their own.[5] The factory was used as a base by the Alliance to Restore the Republic. The rebels at the factory encountered criminal Kay Vess, the Rodian Gedeek Obaz, and the BX commando droid ND-5 when they entered the factory to repair ND-5, which was malfunctioning. In exchange for aid to ND-5, Vess helped the rebels free their comrades from the clutches of the Hutt Clan, who intended to sell them as prisoners to the Galactic Empire. When the Empire discovered the location of the rebel base, the factory was nearly destroyed by the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer Revelator. The Revelator was destroyed before it could destroy the base by an attack composed of the Rebel Alliance, Kay Vess' crew, and a crime syndicate with which Vess had a good reputation.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
The Akiva production plant first appeared in the 2015 novel, Aftermath by Chuck Wendig.[1] It was later shown as part of "The Legacy" main quest in the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft.[2]

As the BX was introduced to the frontlines by the events of "Rookies," which is set in 22 BBY according to Star Wars: Timelines, the Akivan factory must have been in operation by 22 BBY.
