The Alderaan system was a star system located in the Alderaan sector in the Core Worlds of the galaxy. It was home to the planet Alderaan prior to its destruction by the first Death Star in 0 BBY. Following that event, the star system's spatial mass was slightly reduced and Alderaan's orbit became the site of an asteroid field known as the graveyard that consisted of the planet's remains.[4]
