- "To the Rebellion."
- ―Vel Sartha gives a toast the night before their mission
The Aldhani rebel infiltration team,[5] or Aldhani heist team,[6] was a rebel cell comprised of seven humans. Six of them were volunteers—the leader Vel Sartha, Taramyn Barcona, Arvel Skeen, Karis Nemik, Cinta Kaz, and Imperial double agent Lieutenant Gorn. The seventh member was Cassian Jeron Andor, operating under the name "Clem," who was paid for the job and forcibly installed by Luthen Rael, who demanded Sartha accept his presence if she wanted to continue the operation. Together, they planned a mission on Aldhani, with the goal of stealing a quarter's worth of the Imperial payroll for the entire sector in which Aldhani was located.[1]
On the day of the phenomenon known as the Eye of Aldhani, Barcona led Skeen, Nemik, and Andor to the Aldhani dam, the main Imperial base, disguised as Imperial Army troopers. Meanwhile, Sartha and Kaz donned wetsuits and traveled through the water, climbing up the dam before disabling communications. Gorn allowed the squad of four men to pass by and take the Imperial commandant, Jayhold Beehaz, and his family, hostage. Rendezvousing with the other two members of their group, Gorn watched their backs as Sartha, Barcona, Nemik, Skeen, and Andor went down to the vault to locate the credits. As Kaz watched the hostages, the others forced the Imperial soldiers there to load the credits onto the Max-7 Rono freighter the group would use to escape. However, by the time Gorn arrived in the vault to escape as well, a group of Imperials had discovered them.[3]
After a shootout that left Gorn and Barcona dead, Andor was able to launch the ship, although Nemik was grievously injured during takeoff. After escaping from three TIE fighters in the chaos of the Eye of Aldhani, a brilliant meteor shower, Sartha, Skeen, and Andor visited a doctor to help Nemik while Kaz left the Imperial base disguised as an Imperial officer. Nemik was unable to be saved, and when Skeen suggested that he and Andor take the payload and abandon Sartha, Andor shot and killed him. He would tell Sartha of this before taking his cut and departing.[3]
