- "As I stated in response to your initial query, the shipment departed as planned from Aldraig in the Alderaan sector."
- ―Senator Bail Organa, in a letter to Chief Investigator Axvering
Aldraig was an astronomical object in the Core Worlds' Alderaan sector. In 1 BBY, a UT-60D U-wing starfighter/support craft shipment from there fell into the hands of the Rebel Alliance with the help of Imperial Senator Bail Organa, who covered his tracks by having arranging a mistake in the shipment's route from an Aldraig data clerk. The Empire also produced Imperial rations at factories on Aldraig.
Description[]
Aldraig was a terrestrial astronomical object in the Alderaan sector[2] of the Core Worlds.[1]
History[]
- "I have acknowledged that a data clerk on Aldraig mistakenly routed the shipment through Baylagon, but one extra layover is barely an inconvenience for a competent pilot."
- ―Bail Organa, in a letter to Chief Investigator Axvering

Bail Organa allowed a U-wing shipment from Aldraig to fall into Rebel Alliance hands
In 1 BBY,[4] a shipment of UT-60D U-wing starfighter/support craft was scheduled to be taken to the planet Coruscant from Aldraig. Intent on seizing the starships for the Rebel Alliance Senator Bail Organa of the Imperial Senate and the Alderaanian House of Organa arranged for a data clerk on Aldraig to mistakenly route the shipment via Baylagon. After the shipment did not make it to Coruscant, secretly falling into rebel hands, the Empire's Imperial Security Bureau launched an enquiry led by Chief Investigator Axvering. Organa, trying to look compliant with the investigation, provided confirmation that the shipment had left Aldraig and apologized for the routing error by the clerk in a letter to Axvering, offering to compensate for extra fuel that the error may have expended.[2]
A copy of Organa's letter to Axvering was sent to the Alliance Commander-in-Chief Mon Mothma and General Airen Cracken of the intelligance branch. Conscious that the U-wings would eventually be seen fighting against the Empire, Organa suggested to the pair that further assistance covering his tracks would be beneficial. The subsequent file was included in The Rebel Files, an archive of non-electronic documents compiled by archivist Hendri Underholt.[2] Imperial rations were produced by factories on Aldraig. Yrica Quell, a TIE fighter pilot in the Empire's 204th Imperial Fighter Wing, remembered the aftertaste of Aldraig factory-stamped rations as astringent.[3]
The Rebel Files was buried during an Imperial bombardment on the planet Durkteel[2] in 4 ABY,[5] before being recovered in an excavation[2] in 34 ABY,[5] falling into the hands of General Leia Organa of the Resistance, a military faction with Rebel Alliance roots. The daughter of Bail Organa, Leia annotated her late father's letter, notably remarking that it was easier to steal from a hostile faction that it was to request from a friendly one like the Resistance did with the[2] New Republic, the Alliance's successor.[6]

- ↑ In Star Wars: The Rebel Files, the files mentioning the acquisition of UT-60D U-wing starfighter/support crafts are set between the defection of Bodhi Rook and the Battle of Scarif, both dated to 1 BBY by Star Wars: Timelines.
- ↑ 5.0 5.1 The reference book Star Wars: The Rebel Files establishes that the in-universe artifact The Rebel Files was buried on the same day as the Battle of Endor, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 4 ABY. Given that the former also states that The Rebel Files was rediscovered thirty years after the battle, the artifact must have been found in 34 ABY.
