Doctor Aleq Armond was a scientist at the Corulag Academy's advanced engineering department, who worked with Sienar Fleet Systems and researched a new ion engine that could increase the flight speed of TIE fighters. One of his students was in reality a Rebel sympathizer who plotted to sabotage the demonstration of the new ion engine system.
