- "Writing very simple stories well is (often) much more difficult than writing complicated ones."
- ―Alexander Freed
Alexander Marsh Freed was the writer for Star Wars: The Old Republic, Blood of the Empire and Star Wars: The Old Republic—The Lost Suns. He wrote for the Imperial Agent storyline.[1] Freed had written Star Wars: Purge: The Tyrant's Fist by August 23, 2012, when it was announced at Celebration VI.[2] He participated in the Star Wars Reads event.[3] He was a staff writer at BioWare for six years before departing of his own volition in October 2012 to pursue a freelance career.[4][5]
Freed later went on to write the 2015 Del Rey novel Battlefront: Twilight Company, a tie-in to the video game Star Wars Battlefront which released that same year.[6] After that, he authored the short stories "Contingency Plan"[7] and "The Man Who Built Cloud City"[8] for the respective short story collections From a Certain Point of View, released in 2017,[7] and From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back, released in 2020.[8] Around the same time, he also wrote the Star Wars: Alphabet Squadron trilogy,[9] the first volume, Alphabet Squadron, releasing in 2019,[10] the second, Shadow Fall, being published in 2020,[11] and the third, Victory's Price, going public in 2021.[12]
