Alsakan was a Core Worlds planet situated along the Perlemian Trade Route. It was the homeworld of both Doctor Cornelius Evazan and the career military officer Enric Pryde.
Description[]
Alsakan was a terrestrial[3] planet[7] located within an intersecting portion of the Core Worlds[1] and the Interior.[2] Situated at the coordinates L-9 on the Standard Galactic Grid, it lay along the Perlemian Trade Route[1] super-hyperroute[8] between the[1] planets[3][9] Coruscant and Anaxes.[1] The world shared its name with the Alsakan Conflicts.[10]
History[]
- "Meanwhile, amid the slightly outdated tendencies of some instructors at the Imperial Academy on Alsakan, Major Urkhaste's lessons on defensive tactics and deployments were apparently legendary."
- ―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire
The human Enric Pryde[4] was born on Alsakan in 27 BBY. After the Galactic Empire rose to power in 19 BBY,[12] the world became one of its greatest supporters.[6] The Alsakan Academy was established by this time.[4] Instructors at the Imperial Academy were known to have tendencies that were outdated by common practices at the time. Despite that, the lessons taught there by Major Urkhaste were said to be legendary.[11] Pryde worked his way into an advanced placement in the Alsakan Academy[4] by 11 BBY[13] and continued into a career as an officer in the Imperial Military and eventually in the First Order.[4]
By 9 BBY, the Imperial Inquisitor Third Sister hunted Force-sensitives on Alsakan.[3] The Imperial Archives had a section on the "Alsakan Imperial Academy" that included the file "Lecture Series—Principles and Precepts of Defensive Fortifications," which gave coverage on Urkhaste's lessons. Having read the file, historian Beaumont Kin briefly wrote on the Alsakan Academy in[11] his[4] 35 ABY[14] book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.[11]
Inhabitants[]
Alsakan was the homeworld of the human Doctor Cornelius Evazan, who went on to become known for his obscene surgical experiments.[7] Alsakan culture included military riding traditions, which made use of swaggersticks.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
Alsakan was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Ultimate Star Wars, a 2015 reference book written by Patricia Barr, Adam Bray, Daniel Wallace, and Ryder Windham.[5] It was originally created for the Dark Empire Sourcebook, a Star Wars Legends sourcebook written by Michael Allen Horne for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game and published in 1993.[15]

- ↑ Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire states that thirty years have passed since the end of the Galactic Civil War and months have passed since the Battle of Exegol. As Star Wars: Timelines dates the end of the war to 5 ABY and the Battle of Exegol to 35 ABY, the in-universe The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire must have been published in 35 ABY.
