Amadeo Azzazzo was a human[2] male[3] Padawan of the Jedi Order during the High Republic Era. After the destruction of Starlight Beacon, Azzazzo and his master Mirro Lox were called back to the planet Coruscant, following their mission to evacuate villagers during a groundquake on the planet Mikkia.[4] Once the Stormwall of the Nihil marauders was erected, trapping many worlds in what became known as the Occlusion Zone, Azzazzo and Master Lox—along with other Jedi like Jedi Knights Bell Zettifar and Burryaga Agaburry—were tasked with securing a Nihil Path engine, which would allow the Jedi and the Galactic Republic to safely traverse through the Stormwall.[7]

Biography[]

Groundquake on Mikkia[]

The human male Jedi Padawan Amadeo Azzazzo[4] was born around 247 BBY.[1] In 230 BBY,[8] human male Jedi Padawan Amadeo Azzazzo and his Jedi Master, Mirro Lox, received an order from the Jedi Council to assist in a distress call sent by the Mikkians of the Charbana mining village on the planet Mikkia, as the village was experiencing a massive groundquake. The order itself did not make mention of the Red Mine—an organization which told the Jedi not to land as their ship approached Mikkia, with the Red Mine claiming they were already assisting in the groundquake evacuation efforts. Master Lox had opted to land anyway, and so Azzazzo and Lox aided in evacuating the Mikkian villagers while there was no Red Mine rescue team in sight for another hour.[4]

As Padawan Azzazzo and Master Lox caught their breath, the two Jedi met with Red Mine representatives, including a manager named Lor Botho. The Jedi were also introduced to Gria Cappo, a Mikkian woman whose father, Senar Cappo, had led the village of Charbana and sent the distress signal to the Jedi before he was killed in a roof collapse shortly after. Now the leader of Charbana, Gria explained to the Jedi how her homeworld used to be a lush, green world before their plants began to die following the Red Mine's akassia mineral mining operations on Mikkia. Azzazzo surmised the groundquakes were a direct seismic consequence of the excessive and overly fast drilling of the planet, while the mine itself was likely producing toxic residues which hurt the ecosystem.[4]

Under the guise of discussing the Red Mine abandoning their mining complex on Mikkia, Lor Botho led Gria Cappo and the Jedi to their ship, before setting off a smoky, toxic gas as a trap. Following a brief skirmish between the Jedi and the Red Mine, Azzazzo and Lox managed to incapacitate Botho and his Red Mine team, while rescuing Gria from the effects of the smoke. Master Lox assured that the Jedi Council and Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh of the Galactic Republic would be informed of the incident in Charbana, encouraging the Red Mine to leave Mikkia peacefully if they wanted to avoid Jedi and Republic involvement.[4]

Call to Coruscant[]

As Mikkian guards took away the incapacitated Red Mine team, Azzazzo and Lox overheard a teenaged Mikkian singing a nursery rhyme to soothe a crying child—a lullaby that, while Azzazzo thought was mere gibberish and random syllables, Lox listened to intently. In that moment, Master Lox received a message from the planet Coruscant via his comlink. Jedi Master Maia Tsoo informed Azzazzo and Lox of the destruction of Starlight Beacon, a space station that plummeted into the oceans of planet Eiram. Master Tsoo explained how all available Jedi were being immediately recalled to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant for further instructions.[4]

Personality and traits[]

Azzazzo was recognized for his amber-colored eyes, tanned skin, curly black hair,[4] and generally short stature.[9] He was attracted to both men and women, which he mentally noted when he felt an immediate attraction to medical officer Dorian Innes.[3]
