Ambush spiders were a type of giant spider that lived as part of the vertical ecosystem that existed in the continent-spanning rain forests and dense jungles that grew in the equatorial latitudes of the Outer Rim Territories planet Iakar. They lived below the kilometer-high canopies, where they were avoided by insects and rodents that lived off the waste of the canopy-dwelling Iakaru species.[1]
