The Anchorhead Base or Mos Eisley Base was a minor training base of the Rebel Alliance, dug into the Beggar's Canyon on Tatooine, with a small base of operations located in the lower basement level of the small cafe in Anchorhead.
The base trained rookies pilots in the treacherous walls of the Canyon with the Incom T-16 Skyhopper. It was also the base from which the attack against Devastator was launched before the Battle of Yavin, but the Rebels were tracked down and the base was destroyed by three TIEs.
The only known rebel military presence on Tatooine, it served as a staging point for Rebels tasked with the purchase of black market weapons from various shady contacts in nearby spaceports such as Mos Eisley.

Behind the scenes
The concept of a Rebel training center, and generally a Rebel base on Tatooine, appears only in Star Wars: Rebel Assault and this information is considered apocryphal due to Rebel Assault's canon status. This idea was probably derived from Biggs Darklighter and Luke Skywalker's use of the canyon during their teenage years.
However there have been several conflicts on Tatooine (First Battle of Tatooine) with Rebel forces. Their immediate presence could be explained by the existence of a base on Tatooine. Also, a second Rebel base on Tatooine is mentioned in Star Wars: The Mystery of the Rebellious Robot. The base of communications under the cafe in Anchorhead may have been the location that Egoreg held his meeting on his supervaporator project, though this is only speculation.
