"And Then There Were Some: The Gamorrean Guard's Tale" by William F. Wu tells the tale of Gartogg—a dim-witted, even by Gamorrean standards, Gamorrean guard—as he tries to solve a series of murders in Jabba's Palace. The short story appeared in Tales from Jabba's Palace, which was published by Bantam Spectra December 1995.
Plot summary[]
Gartogg is a Gamorrean guard in Jabba's Palace. He is disappointed because he is always assigned to patrol the dark back hallways. Gartogg is continuously looking for something important that will promote his status among the other guards. Happening upon three separate murders, he sets out to find the killers. The method by which he draws his final conclusion is somewhat erroneous but nonetheless is accurate.
