- "Finally, there's the lumps and the hunger for ant-flies. They stick to your face like blemishes. Like space barnacles."
- ―An Ithorian's notes
Ant-flies were creatures eaten by many Ithorians after they metamorphosized. They were sometimes compared to space barnacles for sticking to surfaces like blemishes.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Ant-flies were first mentioned in Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas, a book published in 1993.[1] Lucasfilm employee Leland Chee, who maintains the Holocron continuity database, has indicated that information contained in the book is non-canonical.[3] Ant-flies were later made canonical with the publishing of Musings of an Ithorian on Hyperspace.
