Antibiotics were common medicines that were used throughout the galaxy. Antibiotics were commonly found in medpacs, and could be used to treat a variety of illnesses, injuries, and ailments.

An antibiotic was a general use medicine that could be administered to patients to treat a variety of ailments, including poisons, animal venom, diseases, infectious microbes,[1] bacteria, and germs.[3] Antibiotics were part of the standard medicines included in medpacs,[1] while medpatches were designed to apply antibiotics and coagulants directly to an injury.[2] MD-1 medical droids were programmed to work with computers to formulate and develop antibiotics as well as antidotes and vaccines.[3]
History[]
While stationed aboard the DS-1 Orbital Battle Station, surgeon Kornell Divini treated a Wookiee construction chief with antibiotics, antivirals, and antiprions after the patient developed a secondary infection following a heart and lung transplant.[4]
Khedryn Faal, captain of the YT-2400 light freighter Junker, converted one of the ship's passenger berths into a medical treatment room. He stocked antibiotics in transparent storage lockers alongside gauze, scissors, stim-shots, bacta, synthflesh, and other medical equipment.[5]
When Leia Organa Solo was escaping from the Columi brother's Mandalorian enforcers, she loaded a steel metal tray with antibiotics, among other things.[6]
