"Attention all pilots. The following maneuvers should only be performed in open space: the Antilles Intercept, the Dragon Kite, and most of all, the Enlightened Bantha. Be advised."
―An announcement on the Temperance[2]

The Antilles Intercept was a flight maneuver used by pilots of the New Republic after the Battle of Endor,[2] and was later taught while training pilots of the Resistance around thirty years later. It was named in honor of the venerated pilot[3] Wedge Antilles, who flew against both the Galactic Empire's first and second Death Stars for the Alliance to Restore the Republic and survived to serve its successor, the New Republic.[4] Four years after the destruction of Alderaan, pilots of the Temperance battle group were warned to only perform this maneuver in open space, along with the Dragon Kite and most of all, the Enlightened Bantha.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

The Antilles Intercept was first mentioned in Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary, a reference book written by Pablo Hidalgo and published in 2015.
