ArMek was a corporation that manufactured shipboard ion and laser weaponry. They produced a series of ion cannons with SW-# designations, such as the SW-2 ion cannon and SW-6 ion cannon. Light ion cannon versions of the series were given the designation SW-#a, such as the SW-6a light ion cannon.
