The Archaeological Research Council was a committee of archaeologists based on Kallidah,[1] the homeworld of the Kallidahin species.[2] The council settled a research base in Polis Massa, an asteroid field that was created when a cataclysm destroyed the planet of the same name, to study the mysteries behind its destruction,[1] and after generations of working on the project, the Kallidahin came to be mistakenly known as Polis Massans.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
The Archaeological Research Council was first mentioned in Star Wars: Complete Locations, a 2005 Star Wars Legends reference book that compiled Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Episode I, Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, and Inside the Worlds of Star Wars Trilogy, and included new content written by Kerrie Dougherty that covered locations from Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.[3] It became canon when it was mentioned in Ultimate Star Wars, a reference book co written by Patricia Barr, Adam Bray, Daniel Wallace, and Ryder Windham that was released in 2015.[1]
