Aridinian folk music was a traditional form of music[1] that was created in the Aridinia system.[2] By the year 0 ABY,[3] it had become famous across the galaxy for its ability to make Human ears bleed after a few notes.[1] The music was thereby regulated outside of its native system.[4] In 0 ABY,[3] the Rebel droid R2-D2 broadcast a recording of the Aridinian music as a distraction, allowing his companionsLeia Organa, Han Solo, and Chewbacca—to escape from the rogue Imperial Commander Rezi Soresh. However, another of R2-D2's compatriots, Luke Skywalker, stayed behind to continue his masquerade as Soresh's assassin.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Aridinian folk music first appeared in Rebel Force: Uprising, the sixth novel of the Star Wars: Rebel Force series. It was authored by Alex Wheeler and published in 2010.[1]
