"From the slums of Arramanx to the forests of Kashyyyk, borcatu are everywhere."
―An individual[4]

Arramanx was an urban world[2] located in the Arramanx system.[1] It was a part of the Cronese Mandate sector of the Tion Cluster,[2] within the Slice portion of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] Arramanx was situated between the Duinarbulon and Pasmin systems on the Greater Cronese Arc hyperlane, while the hyperspace route known as the Kismaano Bypass linked it to the Gadon system.[2]

The slums of the lawless Arramanx were notorious throughout the Tion Cluster, with only those spacers who were transporting illegal cargoes risking doing business on the planet's surface while pilots with legitimate interests kept to the number of disreputable—but nevertheless serviceable—space stations in Arramanx's orbit.[2] At some point, the small, quadripedal scavenger creatures known as the borcatu, which were originally native to the[3] Expansion Region[5] planet Escabar, spread from their homeworld into the wider galaxy, settling on a diverse range of habitats on various worlds, including in the slums of Arramanx.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Arramanx was first mentioned in the 1994 sourcebook Creatures of the Galaxy, specifically in the short companion narrative "A Widespread Scavenger" that was authored by Phil Brucato.[3] The book was published by West End Games for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Arramanx system, and therefore the planet itself, in grid square S-6.[1]
