Ashley Boone, Jr. was an American marketing and distribution executive in the film industry. As the Vice President of domestic marketing and distribution for 20th Century Fox in 1977, he was instrumental in the financial success of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. The film's success led to his promotion to President of distribution and marketing for Fox, making him the first black president of a major Hollywood studio. After leaving Fox in 1979, he started his own consulting firm, where he handled the distribution and marketing of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.[2]
