Asuka trees were a type of tree that grew in the hot, muggy jungles of the Outer Rim planet Akiva. The trees had crinkly blue flower blossoms and fat, broad leaves. Near the end of the rebellion on Akiva[1] in 4 ABY,[2] rebel pilot Norra Wexley and her son, Temmin Wexley, traveled to a landing pad that had several asuka trees growing nearby. The day prior to their visit, a storm had blown several of the trees' leaves and flowers onto the ground.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Asuka trees first appeared in Aftermath, a 2015 novel written by Chuck Wendig.[1]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 1.6 1.7 Aftermath
  2. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary dates the reunion of Norra Wexley and Temmin Wexley on Akiva—which occurs during the rebellion on Akiva, according to Aftermath—to thirty years before the Hosnian Cataclysm, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 34 ABY. The mention of asuka trees takes place near the end of Akiva's rebellion, and can therefore be placed in 4 ABY.
