Asyrphus was a terrestrial astronomical object where the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry were deployed[1] at some point between 0 BBY and 3 ABY.[2] On Asyrphus, the company faced a bombardment which massacred many of its troopers, including a comm tech and her droid. Hazram Namir, a soldier in the 61st who knew the technician, remembered the massacre on Asyrphus in his mind when recalling her[1] in 3 ABY,[2] and later that year when he compared the losses the 61st took on Asyrphus to the company's recent losses in its command structure.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Asyrphus was mentioned in the 2015 novel Battlefront: Twilight Company, written by Alexander Freed.[1]

Notes and references[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 Battlefront: Twilight Company
  2. 2.0 2.1 The main events of Battlefront: Twilight Company are set 22 years after the Clone Wars, which ended in 19 BBY, according to Star Wars: Galactic Atlas. Those events must have therefore occurred in 3 ABY. According to the novel, the massacre at Asyrphus took place during Hazram Namir's service in the 61st Mobile Infantry and prior to the main events of Battlefront: Twilight Company. Namir joined the company shortly after the Battle of the Tower, which occurs nineteen years after the Clone Wars in the novel, so the massacre at Asyrphus must have occurred sometime between 0 BBY and 3 ABY.
