Biography[]
The son of Lynn and Doyle Skims and the brother of Lyda Skims, Athon Skims served as a GR-75 medium transport pilot for the Rebel Alliance in the Galactic Civil War.[2]
In 0 BBY, Skims was killed during a delivery to Alliance contacts on Alderaan at the time of the planet's destruction by the Death Star in retaliation for the Rebel activities of Alderaanian Princess Leia Organa. The devastating loss of Skims, and the subsequent death of their father at the Battle of Yavin, led his sister Lyda to join the Alliance, continuing their family's tradition of service under the code name "Skimmer".[1][2]
