"Trooper's you have made a mistake. […] I am not a Jedi."
―Darth Vader, to Ding and Kicker[src]

During the first days of the Jedi Purge in 19 BBY, the newly-christened Darth Vader attacked the Jedi Order's space station Brighthome that was under Imperial control, with the Sith Lord wiping out all the stormtroopers in his way. While Vader could have had his droid transmit docking codes and enter the station without bloodshed, he elected to fight the station's personnel.[3]

Vader came to the station to access its archives, as his Sith Master, Darth Sidious, ordered him to take a Kyber crystal from a Jedi he defeated in combat,[3] so the Sith apprentice could then bleed it to his will.[4] Using the archives, Vader's droid located Kirak Infil'a, who had survived the Jedi Purge by taking the Barash vow.[3]
