The Galactic Republic's 212th Attack Battalion carried out the attack on Nabat during the Battle of Ryloth in 21 BBY. The skirmish saw the city of Nabat liberated from the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
The liberation[]
After Skywalker's fleet broke through the Ryloth blockade[4] and continued to engage its remaining starships, the Galactic Republic's invasion fleet made its way into the atmosphere of the planet Ryloth, which Separatist forces under Emir Wat Tambor had occupied. In need of a landing zone, Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi and members of his 212th Attack Battalion made their way to the occupied city of Nabat aboard Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry. Newly created J-1 proton cannons, however, were stationed in the city and offered heavy surface fire that took out most of the LAAT/is and one of the invasion fleet's Acclamator-class transgalactic military assault ships.[1]
Kenobi and his remaining forces, among their number the clone troopers of Ghost Company, stormed Nabat's outer defenses and infiltrated the deserted city, the inhabitants of which had been taken as living shields by the occupying battle droids. In the city, two of Kenobi's troops, Waxer and Boil, discovered Numa, a young Twi'lek who had escaped capture. After fighting off a swarm of gutkurrs, Kenobi and his troops attacked the Separatist command center, drawing most of the droids away to free the prisoners and take out the cannons. When droid commander TX-20 cornered Kenobi and Numa aboard an Armored Assault Tank Mk I, the freed Twi'leks attacked the tank and climbed up to the confused droid, who had failed to calculate such a revolt and was torn apart by the people.[1]
Aftermath[]
The invasion fleet was able to set down outside of Nabat after the city's liberation and land the greater GAR forces[1] to be used in the rest of the Ryloth campaign.[2]
