The attack on Vader[2] occurred between 3 ABY and 4 ABY[3] during the scourge of the droids conflict and the Force Wave incident on[1] the planet[4] Mustafar, where the Scourge corrupted an octuptarra tri-droid[1] from the abandoned Techno Union droid factory. Having hijacked ZED-6-7—a droid servant of the Scourge's target, the Sith Lord Darth Vader—after a failed attempted to corrupt Vader aboard his Star Dreadnought Executor,[5] the Scourge attacked Vader and his other droid servants with ZED and the octuptarra. Through the skirmish, Vader managed to focus on his hatred for himself and re-establish his control over the Force,[1] which he had struggled to command since the Force Wave returned.[6] With his Force powers his to command once more, Vader destroyed the corrupted octuptarra and corrupted ZED.[1] ZED was later rebuilt.[7]
