During the High Republic Era, the Nihil pirates attacked the planet Valo. During the attack, the Jedi youngling Gavi witnessed his Jedi Master, Aebal, being killed by a Nameless, though he managed to escape and lived in the ruins of the Lonisa City Zoo for months along with fellow younglings Kildo and Tep Tep. As a result of the attack, Valo was consumed by the Nihil and placed behind its Stormwall in the Occlusion Zone.
